A premier concert technician preparing pianos for performance and recording. Jeff Baker is also a contemporary classical composer who has penned more than one hundred pieces of music for piano, soloist, choir, chamber, and full orchestra. In 1998, the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra at Symphony Space performed his piano concerto Rhapsody for a New Age. In 1990, Musical Theatre works at the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre performed his musical Psyche. In 1997, Jeff was honored with a “Meet the Composer” lecture and concert at Western Connecticut State University.
The Music of the Zodiac, Jeff’s classical journey through the zodiacal signs for chamber orchestra has received tens of thousands of downloads. Jeff wrote a piece for the choir titled “The World Sings For Peace”, which consisted of the word “Peace” in twenty-seven different languages, and was performed at the United Nations. A reading in 2018 at The Actors Guild in New York City of his play about Leo Tolstoy, adapted from Gorky’s Reminiscences and co-written by Sondra Lee, featured Cavett.
